Exposed Aggregate Concrete

The finish is achieved by the application of a chemical retarder to the surface of the form.  The retarder prevents the matrix from hardening at the surface of the panel to a specific depth, controlled by the strength of the retarder.  After curing, the unhardened layer of matrix at the surface of the panel is removed by a high pressure water washing, thus, exposing the aggregate used in the concrete.  Exposed aggregate finishes also provide an attractive slip-resistent texture.  Driveways, Sidewalks, Porches, Pads and Patios are great areas to consider exposed aggregate finish.

Broom Finished Concrete

Broom Finished Concrete is an attractive, slip-resistent texture achieved by pulling a damp broom across the concrete surface after it has been wood floated or steel trowelled.  Broom textures are commonly used on exterior entertainment areas, driveways, sidewalks, patios, porches and pads.

Concrete Poured Foundations

The foundation of a home or building is essential to the value and safety of the structure. The construction must be done correctly in terms of the type of foundation being formed, avoiding problems with settlement, and properly preparing the subgrade through final curing stages. Each phase of foundation construction has necessary requirements and components upon which a structure depends.

Footings are an important part of foundation construction. They are typically made of concrete with rebar reinforcement that has been poured into an excavated trench. The purpose of footings is to support the foundation and prevent settling. Footings are especially important in areas with troublesome soils.  Concrete footings may also be needed for projects such as a deck, pergola, retaining wall or other types of construction.

A footing is placed below the frost line and then the walls are added on top. The footing is wider than the wall, providing extra support at the base of the foundation.  The walls are constructed by setting aluminum forms and pouring concrete inside; and finally, the slab is poured between the walls.
